Scented candles

Scents can also do a lot for making your home a memorable place.  Try scented candles.  These work extremely well as accent pieces too.  Put  them in bathrooms, the kitchen, the living and dining rooms.  They will create “mood” without having you change anything.  Bowls of citrus fruits like lemons and oranges also work.  Air fresheners are fine.  The aroma is stronger, though they don’t make very good accessories.

Hang Painting

Brush up on your accent.  Your home accent pieces, that is.  Hang paintings on the walls, or frame old postcards.  If you didn’t rearrange the furniture or change the paint, pictures and artwork will provide a room a new focal point.
